In the North Malé Atoll and West of Farukolhufushi Island the swimmers, divers, and snorkelers will find the beautiful Banana Reef. It is a protected marine area. Due to its shape, it gets the name banana reef. It is perfect for both novice and pro divers. The reef offers small canyons, soft coral, and overhangs. The ocean’s currents form the large center of the reef. Here, divers and swimmers will see large schools of oriental sweet lips, fusiliers, and snappers. There is a wall on the south end of the reef with some smaller caves. These caves are filled with red tooth trigger fish.

Hulhumalé located north of the airport and Malé and connected by a causeway. It is necessarily an extension of Malé proper. Hulhumalé is a human-made island that covers about a 1.8 square kilometer island. Due to the population growth, this project was started in 1997. Here guest gets the authentic Maldivian dining experience with the residence of Malé. Even it has snorkeling option, too. Tea on the beach or Breakwater, Dinemore, or Oxygen Café with the sunset is an amazing experience. It is a hub for cultural and entertaining activities like carnivals, parades, and live music.

  1. Mulee’aage Palace

Mulee’aage Palace is a colonial-style building built in 1906. Sultan Mohammed Shamsuddeen III built it for the residence of his son, but he was overthrown before it complete. After that uses as the private residence for the Republic of the Maldive’s President till now. What makes it interesting is the intricate white carvings on the exterior wall of the palace and a well-manicured landscape.

Secret Paradise headquartered on the Hulhumalé. Secret Paradise emphasizes enduring local Maldivian tradition and culture. Here travelers can visit the island Hurra and learn about the local lives.
